Visual Displays

One of my favourite pastimes is creating visual displays for shop windows, exhibitions and shows.  I’ve never been really brilliant with a paintbrush so rather than attempting to work on a canvas I choose to source beautiful products and arrange them into little vistas that are designed to entice you into their world.

I have always loved creating stunning displays and customers would travel from far and wide each year to see my Christmas shop windows in my original shop at Caboolture.  I would spend the whole year planning the windows and then more than one hundred hours putting them together but it was always worth it, especially when I saw the joy that it brought to everyone.  Every morning before we started work, we would have to clean the windows from lots of little sticky fingers and faces that had been pushed up against the glass peering in to see the magical lands!

In more recent years, I have run an annual Magical Christmas Wonderland Exhibition called 'Lollipop Land' and now 'Do You Bee-lieve?'. Instead of 100 hours to do the set-up, it takes almost 800 hours to complete the exhibition and visitors get to come inside and experience the child-like wonder for themselves!

I have included some images here of some of my past work and if you would like me to help you with your dreams of a beautiful Shop Window or a little girl’s Fairy Bedroom; Tea Party Styling, etc, please don’t hesitate to contact me.

'The Faeries Tea Party' exhibition of original dolls by Chris Boston was held in September 2008. The exhibition was a huge success with many people commenting that they would have been quite happy to move in and stay in our enchanted forest with the faeries permanently!  Chris and I held the 'Bejewelled Fantasea' exhibition in September 2009 which was incredibly exciting prompting visitors to want to be a mermaid!!

The following images are from a beautiful shop that used to be in Merredin, Western Australia called Christina's Cottage where my husband Steven and I completed several Christmas displays over the years as well as shop refurbishments too. It was a truly magical store but sadly has now closed .... we will treasure our fond memories of the work we carried out there and the beautiful people of Merredin that we have met over the years.
I have put some images of my favourite window here for you -
I designed it as a Christmas Garden Tea Party and it was oh, so pink!
